In order to encourage and guide society-wide charity organizations and charity enterprises to concern, support and devote to the construction of disabled persons’ culture and art, and jointly push forward the sound development of culture and art, this photography contest is successively held to help the deaf community share the fruits of digital development; strengthen international photography art exchanges and cooperation, and push forward the prosperity and development of the deaf photography undertaking at home and abroad. On the basis of the great success of the First and Second “FB Cup” International Photography Contest for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, China Association of Persons with Hearing Disabilities, Guangdong Disabled Persons’ Federation and Guangdong Photographers Association intend to hold the 2014’ Third “FB Cup” International Photography Contest for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

II. Keynote of the Third “FB Cup” International Photography Contest for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
1. Highlighting humanitarianism ideology, eulogizing the disabled persons’ brave spirit of making unremitting efforts to improve themselves, upholding the values orientations of equality, fraternity, tolerance and mutual issuance, and demonstrating the Chinese (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) and overseas disabled persons’ daily life, rehabilitation, education, culture, sport and social environment, as well as assistive activities for disabled persons in the documentary manner.
2. Introducing natural conditions, folk customs and beautiful sceneries at home and abroad.
III. Requirements for Entry
1. Entry works should present distinct themes and proper contents.
2. Entry works should not be limited by theme, genre and style. Colorful and black-and-white works are allowed to enter the contest. Documentary feature is advocated. (Brief description for works is a must).
3. Number of Submitted Works: Every entrant is allowed to submit at most 10 works. Group photo is refused. No entry fee should be charged. Entry works are not returned to entrants.
4. Deadline: August 20, 2014.
5. Appraisal Date: September 1, 2014 (further notice on official website).
6. Appraisal Procedures: Under the principle of fairness, justice and openness, renowned domestic photographers will be invited to set up Appraisal Committee to appraise all the entry works, and announce List of Members of Appraisal Committee after the appraisal is completed.
7. Submission Modes: 1) Submission by Email; 2) Online submission; and 3) Submission by traditional mail. (Note: Online submission is preferred)
8. Any works shortlisted for previous “FB Cup” International Photography Contest for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing shall not repeatedly enter the contest.
9. All award-winning works will be published on Organizers’ website or the media. Organizers should have the right to edit, use, publish album, make CDs, hold exhibitions and launch other related promotional events for all award-winning works, without extra remuneration therefor.
10. Entrants should agree with the abovementioned requirements
IV. Awards
Gold Award (2 works): royalty of RMB 10,000 for every winning work;
Silver Award (4 works): royalty of RMB 5,000 for every winning work;
Bronze Award (8 works): royalty of RMB 3000 for every winning work;
Excellence Award (18 works): royalty of RMB 500 and prize with worth of RMB 500 for every winning work;
Shortlist Award (80 works): prize with worth of RMB 500 for every winning work.
Winning and shortlisted works will be presented with certificates. Works winning Gold Award, Silver Award and Bronze Award will be presented together with corresponding trophy (The same entrant shall not be awarded repeatedly).
Outstanding Organization Award will be presented for six winners who will obtain Outstanding Organization Award Trophy and Certificate, respectively.
V. Procedures for Submitting Works:
1. Online submission
(1) Entrants should visit Official Website of “FB Cup” International Photography Contest for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (www.cphoto.net).
(2) Every entrant fill up real name, number of disabled person’s certificate, nationality, email address, contact address, postcode and telephone number. Submitted works should be named in the form of “Entry Work Name + Nationality + Entrant’s Name”. Electronic version of disabled person’s certificate should also be submitted.
(3) Submitted works must be original. Colorful and black-and-white works are acceptable. Every entrant should submit at most ten works. (Brief description for works is a must).
(4) The uploaded works should feature long edge accuracy of 1,024 dpi, and generally should not exceed 1M. After all finalist works are announced by Organizers, entrants submitting such works must send original digital files (with long edge accuracy of over 3,000 dpi) to zhcvl@qq.com before September 6 upon notice from Organizers.
Special Note: Winning works must feature long edge accuracy of 3,000 dpi in the original digital file. Otherwise, the qualification for award will be canceled.
(5) After online submission, the message of “Uploading Is Successful” will be prompted by mailbox system. After successful uploading, the submitted works should not be replaced. Organizers will conduct preliminary review for submitted works. Works, which are unrelated to this Contest or fail to satisfy the requirements herein, will be directly deleted.

(2) Submitted works should be named in the form of “Entry Work Name + Nationality + Entrant’s Name”. Every entrant should fill up personal information and catalog of submitted works (Annex 1). Electronic version of disabled person’s certificate and filled-up copy of Annex 1 should also be uploaded.
(3) Submitted works must be original. Colorful and black-and-white works are acceptable. Every entrant should submit at most ten works. (Brief description for works is a must).
(4) The uploaded works should feature long edge accuracy of 1,024 dpi, and generally should not exceed 1M. After all finalist works are announced by Organizers, entrants submitting such works must send original digital files (with long edge accuracy of over 3,000 dpi) to zhcvl@qq.com before September 6 upon notice from Organizers.

Colorful and black-and-white works are acceptable with the size of 8 × 10 inch (square photo should take the size of 10 × 10 inch), which should not be framed. Description card should be attached on the back of every submitted work (Annex 2), which should indicate the relevant information on such work in the legible manner, and specify accurate and concise contents. The submitted works should be also in the format of JPG, with file volume of at least 2M and long edge accuracy of at least 3,000 pixels. With file name of “Entry Work Name + Nationality + Entrant’s Name”, every work should be mailed together with electronic disc and a copy of disabled person’s certificate to Deaf People Association Office of Guangdong Disabled Persons’ Federation.
VI. Exhibition Plan
It is proposed to hold Exhibition, Award-presenting Ceremony and Tour Exhibition of winning works of 2014’ “FB Cup” International Photography Contest for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (Further notice on specific date and place will be issued in due time).
VII. Issues Concerning Portrait Rights and Copyrights
1. Entrants should have the right to use portrait for figures shown in submitted photos and copyrights of submitted photos, and ensure that the uploaded photos never infringe upon copyrights, portrait rights, reputation rights and other legitimate rights and interests of any third party.
2. Whenever Organizers receive related complaints for portrait rights, copyrights and other rights of photos, or find that submitted works contain the contents in violation of the foregoing VII (1) hereof, Organizers will immediately delete the relevant photos and forward related complaints to the persons concerned. The persons concerned should independently resolve related complaints at their own expenses.
3. In case of Organizers’ losses arising from entry photos infringing upon legitimate rights and interests of any third party, Organizers should have the right to request the persons concerned to be liable for such losses and damages.
VIII. Miscellaneous Terms
1. Organizers reserve the right of final interpretation.
2. Outstanding issues, which are not covered herein, will be supplemented by Organizers under the principle of good faith and be announced on Official Website of the Third “FB Cup” International Photography Contest for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
