1932  –  The Weston Exposure Needle (model 617) – which was uses a self generating photoelectric cell – helps photographers obtain correct  exposure readings. Manufactured by Weston Electrical Instrument Corporation of Newark, New Jersey USA, this was Weston’s first in a long line of photographic exposure meters.
